Nestled in the rolling hills of Stirlingshire this quiet spot not only boasts a stunning waterfall and cave but also a long walk through the signature landscapes of the surrounding area. Hiking through the farmland you will find not only the usual sheep but if you are lucky you will run into the local herd of highland cows.
The long walk culminates in a beautiful cascading waterfall and deep cave. The pool is deep enough for a dip but not a full swim. Although the ground around the waterfall is soft and muddy, hiking further up you can find harder flatter ground that sits next to smaller pools.
On the walk back down keep your eye on the horizon for a different view of a famous monument.
After a hike of this size it is easy to find your mind drifting a feed. Luckily the road around is littered with garden centres and cafes.
Estimated walking time: 2 hours
Difficulty: Medium - firm paths but a long walk uphill to the location with a few fences to climb.
