Seated upon the ridge of one of Scotland’s more spectacular Munro’s and overlooking one of its most picturesque glens. This chain of waterfalls offers a seemingly never ending collection of plunge and infinity pools all offering the most breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

Tucked away about 30 minutes off of one of the busiest roads in Scotland this remote retreat offers a great opportunity for anyone looking to escape the traffic and crowds that flood the surrounding glens in summer. The walk in, although long, offers its own delights with the local deer being well used to humans and almost unbothered by your approach. You will often find yourself waiting for a stag to clear the path in his own time in order for you to continue your journey.

I discovered this spot while climbing a Munro on an unusually sunny March morning. Taking a slightly lesser known path I came across this collection of waterfalls and noted them for a return trip in the summer months. Since then this has become one of my favourite, more remote, swimming spots. I have only ever met a few people on this trail and they mostly are focused on getting up or down the overbearing Munro.

All in all this collection of pools is well worth the long hike into the glen if only for a chance encounter with the local wildlife.
